A delicious spread made easy with just a few simple ingredients. Fairly similar to Nutella with that yummy chocolatey and hazelnut taste! Perfect on toast, with fruit or eaten straight from the jar with a spoon!
1 1/2 cups hazelnuts, roasted, skin removed
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup honey
3/4 cup almond milk
2 squares Lindt 80% dark chocolate, melted
1. Roast hazelnuts in oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 10-15 minutes. Then take out of the oven and use a paper towel to rub the hazelnuts together to try and get all the skin removed. It may not be easy for some, so just pop them back in the oven for a further 5 minutes.
2. Once the skin of the hazelnuts are removed, place them in a food processor or blender and blend for 2 minutes until a hazelnut meal is formed (NB: if you want a smooth texture blend the hazelnuts for longer, but if you want a crunchy/chunky texture, blend for less).
3. Then add in the cocoa, honey, almond milk and the melted chocolate to the hazelnut meal. Blend for about 5 minutes or until a thick, creamy constancy is achieved.
4. Store in an airtight jar and refrigerate overnight. Store in fridge! (Will last up to 3 weeks)
Enjoy on bread, with fruit or on a spoon!!
